René Joly 

Rene Joly is a music director who as a parallel career working as a teacher and orchestral musician.

In 1995, he was behind the creation of the Ensemble vent et percussion de Québec, where he is the artistic and musical director since its inception. He is also Music Director of Laval University Faculty of Music wind ensemble and the Cégep de Sainte-Foy wind ensemble. He held the same position with the music of Voltigeurs de Quebec (1984-1996) and the Sherbrooke Wind Ensemble  (1994-1999).

Percussionist with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra since 1981, Rene Joly is also professor and directeur of percussion ensembles of the Cégep de Sainte-Foy Music Department. As an educator, he is regularly invited to present training sessions in conducting and percussion workshops at conferences and with teachers in music programs in high school.He has been invited as a director of Camp Musical d'Asbestos band and CAMMAC music camp, and at the annual congress of the associations of music educators federation in Quebec.Also emphasize that it is one of the instigators of "Viens jouer avec nous" an annual event that brings together several school bands from the Quebec city area.
